Who we are

Better at Design branding and design consultancy is led by James Tranter - a graphic designer with over 15 years’ experience in the industry.

Better at Design was started as a place to put all James’ creative energy and ideas into his own business, and in doing so, to help other small business owners get their dreams off to a start.

James’ career as a designer started in the magazine industry and expanded into advertising, branding and tech as a freelancer. James has worked across the board from creative director to artworker for magazine, film, print and digital advertising media for companies such as Vice, BBC, M&C Saatchi, Condé Nast, Qantas, BMF, Howatson + Co, Leo Burnett, SBS and many more.

James has also worked in the wellness industry as a breathwork, cold exposure (Wim Hof Method mostly), ecstatic dance and men’s work facilitator.

Better at Design is an independent design and branding company run by James Tranter. Currently based in the Northern Rivers area of Australia and working remotely.
